Preliminary Application Guidelines
If you are interested in our preliminary guidelines for taking a child into your care in any facet of our programming, we applaud you. We really want to know you possess the integrity, strength and soundness to take on not just a child, but the spiritual warfare that goes alone with the job. Some considerations may be waived if you have befriended a friend of ours for more than 5 years, because they would be able to vouch for your character. Generally the following would apply.
We ask all Christians interested in our adoptive services program to become familiar with the mission, vision and programs of KWC.
To pray and fast before attempting to take on an “adoption”
To really seek God for direction as to your true purpose of aiding a family in need and to share that direction with us during your application interview.
That you attend one or more “friends and family” days offered at KWC.
That you begin to build a relationship with the Sr. Pastor or Children’s Pastor at KWC for six months to a year.
That you consent to and pass a criminal background check.
Prove financial stability. (no recent bankruptcy, foreclosure, and the like)
If interested in a child of the opposite race, you would take a cultural sensitivity class and pre-adoption classes.
Provide 5 letters of reference (one letter of reference from your biological parent (if alive) and your Sr. Pastor)
Be in good standings with your local church.
And finally, have a record of tithing to your church.
Relationships are everything to KWC and the parents who trust our judgment in placing their children in safe foster homes. Upon an initial interview and the presentation and explanation of these documents you would be highly considered for our foster care program. Upon successful exposure and completion of your foster care program (usually 3 mos. or less) you may be introduced to a birth mom and begin the process to adopt. Of course timing is everything, but we leave that up to God. For more information you may call our office at 404-586-9793.
