1. Volunteers are required to register online.
2. Volunteers are usually assigned to an event and an event duty prior to coming to KWC. Our holiday events are usually not hosted on just one day. For example we celebrate 7, 8, 9 days of Christmas. Our scheduling is such, because we have large crowds to serve, but it also allows volunteers to get plugged in. For privacy reasons, first time volunteers are never scheduled to serve on the actual day of the holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day) we implemented this policy to help ease the stress, tension and embarrassment of our homeless clients. After all, who wants to be stared at or felt sorry for on Christmas Day? Many other rewarding and impacting serving opportunities still exhist and voluneers are usually paired with homeless persons during their serving experience.
3. We have daily volunteer opportunities as well as monthly opportunities.
4. Volunteers can help us with the following daily activities: Cooking, serving food, sorting donations, helping us with handy man stuff, puppet shows, mentoring, and soo much more. For more ways to serve, download our volunteer brochure!
5. You or your group may get involved in our many MONTHLY outreaches to the community such as:
· Bi-annual “Pig Roast” where the whole neighborhood is invited and two pigs are roasted all night long for the BEST old-fashioned BBQ in the Atlanta.
·Thanksgiving is always a blast when you are cooking and serving hundreds of people!!
·Christmas, of course, is wonderful when you distribute thousands of gifts and watch the faces of the kids light up and the stresses leave the parent’s face.
·Back to School is a great event we have every year. You will be helping us distribute hundreds of school supplies to needy children.
6. You or your group may get involved and fundraise for us:
You could collect winter coats "Coat Drive" or you could collect canned food items to stock our kitchen "Food Drive" you could collect school supplies, toiletry items, cleaning products, toothpaste or brushes, the list of living supplies and day to day needs could go on and on and on. Give us a call and we will let you know where the greatest needs are!
7. You could help us with our capital campaign:
Finding resources to promote our next big assignment- a child care facility for sexually abused children. You should search your heart and ask God to show you the possibilities!

Please consider getting your entire family or company involved! We would love the help. All age children are welcome; our events are always family centered. You may bring your camera and take pictures of your family serving...especially if it is your couch potato teenager (smile)!
