Truly Ending Homelessness in Atlanta
We’ve added a membership in a whole new way…
When you become a member of the Jars of Clay, you become a part of a larger community of people who believe everyone deserves:
-
a decent place to call home,
-
enough food to eat
-
and health care to remain healthy
Our goal through this 3 month membership is to support you and guide you until you gain those 3 necessities. When you join, you are doing more than joining an organization to end homelessness; you are becoming a part of a community. Our membership is the reason we've been able to protect, defend, and fight for housing, children, civil rights and human rights. your support through membership, helps us fight the racial disparities that are still so prevalent in American education, jobs, housing, health care and criminal justice system.
Who Should Join the Cause
1. If you care about the homeless and want to see homelessness end in our city. Become a Donor and support the cause.
If you care enough to volunteer and strengthen our efforts to support the homeless.
2. If you are homeless and you would like us to help you end your plight of homelessness by services provided to members.
(Please see services listed below)
How the Program Works:
Once a person contacts our office we offer them membership.
We offer membership orientation throughout the week.
We assist clients to locate a new home to live.
We assist clients with furniture through the Furniture Bank of Atlanta.
We identify which agency has accepted federal & state funds to help homeless families (for specific zip coded) and we give this information to our members.
Members are directed by those agencies to secure funding. (These Agencies are not owned, operated by or affiliated with Jars of Clay)
Members individually chose to utilize this information and support or move in by their own financial means.
Members are educated on housing rights, McKinney Vento Act and continued care.
Our housing process is supposed to help clients quickly move into permanent housing. If you are not ready for your own home, please consider contacting a local shelter close to your zip code. Jars of Clay does Not Pay Move In Expenses, but will identify, direct and connect our clients with agencies that do. Any client that seems to have a problem gaining an appointment will be assisted by our Help Center Staff. Appointments are not guaranteed.
