Jars of Clay strongly encourages our girls and guys the opportunity to build a life with the military.   We honor every young adult’s right to choose their future—whether that includes military service or another purpose-driven direction. We believe no one should have to enlist just to escape homelessness.

That’s why we create a faith-centered pathway to family and lifelong stability, offering safe housing, mentorship, life-skills development, education support, and permanent belonging through fictive kin community. Our mission is to ensure young people have multiple strong options—because they deserve more than survival; they deserve a real start and a lasting support system.

Housing Application

JOC provides free, on-campus housing for students aged 17–20 with or without babies.

We offer a residential, dormitory-style environment that includes meals and basic medical care.

Rooms are typically shared, with 2 plus students per room, featuring lockers, dressers, and shared bathrooms. While residential living is standard, some locations offer nonresidential options.

Trauma-informed Therapy

Our mission is to provide trauma-informed therapy for homeless youth and young adults who have aged out of foster care—creating a safe, consistent, and healing space where they can process pain, rebuild trust, and regain emotional stability. Through compassionate, evidence-based support and ongoing care, we help them move from survival mode into strength, resilience, and long-term wholeness.

Fictive Kin Family Placement

Fictive kin are trusted, non-biological relationships—like mentors, family friends, or community members—who willingly step into a family role to provide consistent care, support, and belonging.

Our mission is to provide young people experiencing homelessness with a stable, safe, and dependable place to live with a FAMILY—offering extended transitional housing along with consistent case management and essential supportive services. Through this proven model, we help youth move beyond crisis and into lasting independence, stability, and lifelong success.

Become an Ambassador for a homeless young adult by opening your home for a short season—providing a safe, stable place to stay, a supportive presence, and the encouragement they need to transition toward independence and a better future, because everyone deserves to know they are seen, valued, and truly loved.
